When providing technical assistance, make sure you are well-versed in goals, objectives and outcomes.
Understanding your knowledge limitations and dealing with them in an open and honest way can build capacity with clients. When you don't know the answer to something--be honest and seek answers. Consider transitional phrases like:
"I'm not really sure how to solve this problem. Let me check into this and get back to you."
OR
"We seem to have a system glitch. Let me loop in a manager."
OR
"I'm sorry. I misunderstood your needs. Let me take a step back and see where we can readjust".
OR
You can reevaluate the fit for your position and encourage your manager to outsource things like changing the duvet cover....
